Welcome to this year’s edition of the VRS Östhammar Longrange.
This is not only the VRS Finale you also compete for the prestigious Östhammar Long Range title.
The match will be focused around positional shooting with few prone stages and designed to test the shooters ability to find solid positions while on the clock.
This year your skill WILL be tested throughout the match. We will NOT apply “Run what you brought” instead “Run what you want”. There will not be any gear limitation other than safety issues.
Spotting during ongoing stages is encouraged, gaming and ingenuity is also encouraged. Match book will be issued approximately 2 weeks before match.
Every shooter MUST have a verified ballistic drop chart.
All measurements in the match book are in meters (metric)
Be sure to read all instructions.
SWEDISH SHOOTERS PLEASE READ
In order to make sure everyone is properly insured all Swedish shooters will be required to have a “Gevärsskyttekort” and a 2020 competition license.
We’re guessing many shooters already have this in order to shoot in field shooting events, but for those that do not – either contact your own club in advance.
We will allow Military personnel to shoot with their service weapon and the requirement for the “gevärsskyttekortet” does not apply.
INTERNATIONAL SHOOTERS PLEASE READ
Nordic citizens
(Does not apply to Iceland)
If you live in Norway, Finland or Denmark and there hold a permanent license (weapon license), you do not need to apply for a temporary weapon import permit if you plan to visit Sweden to hunt or compete for a period shorter than three months. It is sufficient that you file a firearms declaration via the Internet at Swedish Customs when entering and exiting Sweden. You always have to bring your weapon licence from your home country or a European firearms pass.
This applies even if you live in any of the Nordic countries and there hold a permanent license (weapon license) and plan to travel through Sweden, Denmark, Finland or Norway for occasional hunting or competitions in any of these countries.
Citizens outside the Nordic region
If you have been invited from other countries to participate in a hunting or shooting competition in Sweden, you must apply for an import permit from the police for a limited period.
As a foreign competitor or guest hunter, you must apply for an import permit and pay the fee in advance of your planned trip. A good tip is to refer to the Swedish hunting or target values when contacting the police.
